Welcome to the new... CONSERVATIVE GODDESS web blog!
If you're like me, you are tired of the attempt to slowly and methodically chip away at our freedom. My hope is that as people start to wake up and realize that something is "just not right" they will not simply complain and throw up their hands because they feel powerless. I feel blessed to be a citizen of the United States of America and I want to make sure that my descendants are able to experience the liberty that has been bestowed upon me.
I believe that the Constitution is our guiding document and should not be simply dismissed as a "living document' that means one thing one day and something else the next. Our founders experienced tyranny and therefore carefully and deliberately chose each word that was written. Once we give way to the idea of a "moldable" constitution we give politicians, special interest groups and corrupt institutions the ability to use our founding document as a pawn to further their agendas.
I believe that everyone in this great country has the right to believe, worship, and EXPRESS their religion in anyway that they see fit as long as it does not impede upon another person's safety. SO WHAT if it offends. FREEDOM OF RELIGION...NOT FREEDOM FROM RELIGION!
I also believe that we are all individuals with independent talents, wishes, dreams, and abilities. We are all equal in the sense that we were all created by a loving God that granted us a free will to do with this life what we choose. That doesn't mean that we all will accomplish the same things, experience the same education, make use of our talents in the same way. Nor does it mean that we are OWED something from someone else. We are independent thinkers and workers who should use our own sense of compassion to help those that can't help themselves. Whether that be by way of a charitable donation, offering a helping hand, or simply being a friend. As far as the government goes... our elderly who have paid into the Government system for years and contributed positively to our society should be first priority when in need, NOT, able bodied people who will not give up their cell phones and cable TV to buy groceries. Children who have been forgotten and cannot help themselves should be helped. However, the never ending revolving door of entitlement has to stop and it is ruining the very fabric of our society.
I think that many people when they hear the term "conservative" think of a person or group of people that is uptight and wishes to suppress freedoms. However, nothing could be further from the truth. True conservatism allows for TRUE FREEDOM. When we give the government control over our money, our health, and our children what freedom do we really have?

I look forward to reading your posts and welcome spirited debate. However, I will not tolerate vulgarity or personal attacks and will not upload such comments. THANK YOU! CG

You go girl! America is a collection of mutts looking for a home to have the freedom to practice their religion without persecution or suffer the tyranny of a government that wants everyone to follow the same 'controlled' path. God Bless an America where I could be a Christian, Muslim, Jew, or Pagan without fear of death! God Bless an America where I as a woman can have a career to suppport my family! God Bless an America where I have choices on my healthcare, ability to purchase what widgits I want, freedom to send my children to any school I think is best for them. When will America wake up to what has been happening to them for 40+ years! Hippies unite and stand with your walkers to stand up for future generations! You have the ability to do the right thing to ensure your grandchildren have freedoms. Yuppies, forget what the Marxist professors taught your in college! Unite and fight for the Constitution! I know you read it...read it again and realize how well written it is and can apply to any generation. Yes, now we have computers and other crap in our lives that were not the same as that time, but we are still human with human needs for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! We don't need a government (or King) taking control of our daily needs. That is unless we are lazy. I guess I just answered my own question...

Chicago lost the bid for the 2016 Olympics. Well, GOOD! Now they can take the hundreds of millions in taxpayers money that was to be spent in the "short-term" and invest it in the "long-term" for the unemployed and all of us that are fast approaching poverty level.
The way I see it, the President already has re-election in his sights. His term would be up (hmmm) oddly in 2016. Was this going to be his glorious job creator? Didn't work, did it BHO?

Thought you would be interested in this article from National Review:
The Big Guy's Only Supposed to Take the Stage When the Deal's Done
A reader makes a good point, and articulates one of the reasons I figured Chicago's bid was a sure thing:
There's actually something worrisome about this whole Chicago fiasco, and it goes back to President Obama's inexperience. Diplomacy 101 tells us that your head of state only shows up on the high-profile stage when a deal is complete. The lesson that most politicians learn well before they gain positions of power is that diplomacy is done by diplomats, professionals who work through all the negotiations and the hardball tactics and the carrot/stick combinations. The principals in the matter gather to discuss high-level topics and to smile for the cameras as the agreement is being signed. Heads of state do not conduct diplomacy, they ratify it, and surprises are entirely unwelcome at those summits and signing events (hence Reagan's anger in Iceland.)
Why were you and Ramesh surprised? Because you thought that President Obama at least knew this very basic lesson. Today's announcement suggests that he does not, and it just got advertised big-time to countries who already were pretty sure we had a rookie at the helm who didn't know how to use international power. President Obama just got upstaged by an organization against whom no retaliation is acceptable, and he wants to meet with the Iranians next month? We are in deep, deep trouble.
